Wbg appoints seasoned specialist to manage and grow payroll team

Wbg, Accountants and Business Advisers, has appointed a seasoned specialist to manage and grow its burgeoning payroll team.

Margaret Egan has over 30 years’ payroll experience operating the full gamut of software packages and advising clients on all the increasingly complex and ever-changing processes and regulations involved in the vital accountancy function.

“At the start of my career, payroll was mostly regarded as an add-on service: now it’s seen as one of the core accountancy functions, with an increasing number of deadlines and regulations needing to be met, leading to many clients no longer wishing to process their own payroll,” she said.

“As an automation and robotics enthusiast always seeking to review changes to payroll software and IT infrastructure, I’m greatly looking forward to leading and growing what is already a very well-established payroll team in this new role.”

Welcoming Ms Egan to the firm, Donald McKinnon, managing partner at Wbg, added: “Margaret is passionate about payroll and brings a wealth of experience to the firm.

“Her appointment bolsters our capability to remove the administrative burden of what can be a stressful and time-consuming task from clients by arranging real time submissions to HMRC and processing payroll in line with our clients’ needs, as well as making sure PAYE/NIC deductions are all in order.”
